Most people don’t arrive here because they want to become teachers. They arrive because something feels… incomplete. Life is busy. Full. Sometimes even good. But underneath that, there’s a quiet sense: “There must be more than this.” Not more to do. More to experience. At Awakelife, this training begins there.
Yes, you will learn how to teach yoga. But that’s not where we start. We start with something simpler… and more important: How you experience yourself, moment to moment Because without that, teaching becomes technique. With that, teaching becomes something real.
Why Choose Us
What Makes This Journey Unique
Yoga was never meant to be just a system to learn. In its origin, it was a living practice
A Living Practice, Not a System
Yoga was originally passed from teacher to student—not as information, but as lived experience. At Awakelife, we keep this essence alive. This is not a fitness routine, but a practice you step into and experience for yourself.
Time Is Part of the Practice
This is not something you rush through. The practice unfolds over time, through repetition, observation, and experience. Nothing is forced.
You Don’t Just Learn It—You Carry It
This is not something you complete and move on from. As the practice deepens, it becomes part of how you live, how you see, and how you relate to others. From there, teaching is no longer something you try to do well, It becomes something you can share honestly.
Learn how to move with awareness, not force. We explore posture and alignment in a way that supports the body, builds stability, and allows the practice to feel natural, safe, and sustainable.
How to guide and teach with clarity
Teaching is more than giving instructions. You will learn how to communicate simply, guide with confidence, and hold space in a way that feels clear, grounded, and real.
Meditation and awareness practices
Meditation is not about escaping—it’s about seeing. You will be introduced to practices that help you become more present, more aware, and more at ease within yourself.
Breathwork and subtle energy work
The breath is a bridge between body and mind. You will learn how to work with breath in a practical way, bringing balance, calm, and a deeper sensitivity to your inner experience.
Understanding Body, Mind & Patterns
Yoga is not only what happens on the mat. You will begin to understand how your thoughts, reactions, and habits shape your experience, and how awareness can gently shift them.

After attending high-quality yoga classes at the Zoe Life Yoga Center in Centurion for about a year, I decided to enroll in their 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the quality and simplicity of Yogi Gerhard’s teaching style. They say that a true master in any field is generally considered adept at simplifying complex information. Yogi Gerhard’s joyful personality and depth of understanding of the material being taught make the lessons come alive.
Yoga Teacher Training is not just about learning Yoga poses, it’s everything I was looking for and more. I love that Gerhard starts the foundation from teaching that Yoga is more than just a movement practice, but a holistic practice whose aim is to support you grow in your spiritual being and support the journey to bliss.
